Maker Faire

All students have been designing, creating, sharing and evaluating something for our Maker Faire in Technologies. The name ‘Maker Faire’ is an old spelling – we no longer put an ‘e’ on fair. It also comes from the french word ‘faire’ which means ‘to make’ or ‘to do’. Each student had the opportunity to improve on a skill or piece of work from their Technologies learning this year and display it for a week. There was a huge variety – we could not fit everything into the Maker Space, so we had to use some of the library as well!

3D Printing in Primary Schools Showcase

Students from 2M have been doing some research and realised that there is a problem with our Australian currency. Everything costs something and 99 cents, but there is no 99 cent coin, so they have been designing their own coins! Students shared their learning at the 3D printing showcase in the showground on Monday. We received a lot of positive feedback around the quality of work and depth of thinking from our students. Well done!

Building a city together

During Term 3, Lego Club has focussed on collaborative building: working together to create a gigantic town! This is the work of many students throughout the term, who shared ideas, Lego pieces and building advice.  Well-done to all those who helped to make it come to life, we look forward to seeing you at Lego Club next term: Tuesdays at lunchtime in the OSHC room.
